A Loss is Still a Loss

Well, my theory from last week did not pan out so well. I did everything the same but only lost 0.8 pounds this week. But as they say "a loss is still a loss." Even though it was a smaller loss than I have been having, I am still proud of myself. I drank 6 eight ounce glasses of water everyday, stayed on points and exercised 5 days this week. On an even better note, I am starting to notice some changes in my body, most notably is that my calf muscles are starting to become a little defined. I must assume I am starting to replace some of this flab and fat with muscle which in turn will help me burn more calories.

My goal for the next week is to start introducing more fruits and veggies into my diet. I am going to keep it easy, as this tends to be a hard area for me, by aiming for 2 servings a day. This should be an easily attainable goal (at least I hope so).

An OMG Week

Well.....I had my first OMG moment on the scale this morning. My goal has always been to lose the healthy way which is 1 to 2 pounds a week. So far, I have been doing that without any problem. I was very good about staying on points every day. I exercised 30 minutes on the bike 5 days this week. The following is what I did new this week. I increased my water intake by drinking six 8 ounce glasses of water a day. I also ate about 10-15 points of my weekly points as well as eating all my activity points.

The results.....my weight this week fell to 196.8 pounds!!!! That's right. That means a loss of just over 4 pounds in one week!!! I was so very, very pleasantly surprised to say the least. I am so excited. I haven't weighed under 200 pounds since my son was born 3 years ago. Go me!!!

I think my big loss was due to two factors: 1) the increase in my water intake and 2) eating some of my weekly points. I am going to try the same things this week and see what happens. So my goal for the next week is to keep the status quo as far as what a did this past week.

Exercise Goal Met

Well, another 1.6 pounds gone forever!! I wish it would have been a little more but at least my weight loss has been steady. I was able to get in 30 minutes on the exercise bike 5 days this week. Go Me!!!!  My legs were sore but I pushed through it. I hoping to maintain this level of exercise for several weeks before trying to increase it. I need to get my body used to it before pushing too much.

My new goal is to get in six 8 ounce glasses of water a day. This is really going to be more of a challenge than the exercise. It is hard for me to drink if I am not thirsty or eating because it upsets my stomach. I am really going to have to work my way up to it, but I hope to work up to six glasses by Friday.

Well here is to a healthier me this week...

A Good Week

Well, as the title says it has been a good week. I was able to stay on my Weight Watcher's Points and so I lost 1.8 pounds. Go Me!!! Surprisingly, I haven't felt too hungry, and I have actually had more energy and a better mood. :)

My goal this week is to start adding in some exercise. I hope to be able to do 30 minutes on my exercise bike as many days as I can. I must admit I loathe exercise and find it hard to get motivated to do something so this will be one of the harder parts of my journey to get healthy.

Here is to another good week....

A Strong Start

Well, here is to a strong start....again. I have tried Weight Watchers several times in the past, but I really want this time to be the last. I have 68 pounds to get to the upper part of my healthy weight range (which isn't as much as I feared and sounds very do-able to me.). I just have to remember that it took me years to put the weight on so it is going to take time to take it off (hopefully not years). I am so sick and tired of feeling tired and sick all the time.

I found something under the Weight Watcher's success stories that I think will really help. One of the people on there had a little saying when she felt tempted......
"What do I want more, that piece of candy/chocolate/cake/etc. or being thin and healthy."

I also think small monthly goals will be the trick. I am going to aim to lose 5 pounds a month which puts me well into the healthy way of losing 1-2 pounds a week.
