Survived Thanksgiving......Sort Of

Well I sort of survived the dreaded Thanksgiving dinners. I was good and did not overeat but I did let myself indulge in some things that are only available at this time of year. Just to be on the safe side, I weighed myself Thursday morning before the big meals. (My normal weigh in day is Friday.) My weight Thursday morning was 191.2 lbs which gave me a 0.6 lb loss which is great. (I was just hoping to maintain.) It was a good thing I thought ahead and weighed early because my weight this morning was 192.6 lbs which would have been almost a pound gain. I am attributing it to water weight and am going with the earlier weight as my actually one. I am trying to drink a lot of water today and I will weigh again in a few days to see if that helps. Until next week...

The Thanksgiving Challenge

Well, I had a surprising 2 pound loss this week. I was not expecting that much at all since we had gone out to a Japanese hibachi grill earlier in the week. Everyone is really starting to comment on how good I am looking and that is making me feel great. I am feeling great inside as well. I am sleeping better. I don't have constant stomach issues. I have lots more energy. I hope I can keep it up.

On a harder note, this week I have two Thanksgiving dinners to attend. My goal this week is just to maintain and not gain. If I lose weight this week, I will be pleasantly surprised. I am not going to hold my breath however. Hopefully, I can get in some extra exercise to help balance out all the yummy, hard to resist food. Wish me luck.

Halloween Candy is Evil

I will admit that this week I have partaken in my fair share of my son's Halloween candy. (There is a good reason only kids go trick-or-treating.) I was eating so much of it that I had to make my husband take the rest of it to work just to get it out of the house. It doesn't help that my sweet little boy has turned into a little terror for the last week. (I think the term "terrible 2's" is a BIG misnomer.) So stress + Halloween candy = 0.8 pound weight loss. Yes I know a loss is a loss but I was hoping for more of one. Oh well, at least the candy is out of the equation and I have been trying to use exercise to relieve the stress. So I can give me a "Go Me" for the exercise decision.

Anyway it has been a long day and so...

5% Goal Met!!

Go Me!!!

Today I passed my 5% goal of 195.9 pounds. I am so proud of myself!! Last week was a little off so I was surprised at the 1.4 pound loss today. It feels great to finally make a goal. I can really tell a difference in how my clothes are fitting and people are starting to comment on how they can tell I have lost weight. It feels like I just got into the 190's and now I am past the halfway point and heading towards the 180's. Since I met my 5% goal, I am making a new goal today of a 10% weight loss.

On a not so good note, I did not do too good on my other goals this past week. I did not drink as much water as I should have, and I did not get anyways close to eating to two fruits/veggies a day. I promise myself to do better this next week.

A Loss is Still a Loss

Well, my theory from last week did not pan out so well. I did everything the same but only lost 0.8 pounds this week. But as they say "a loss is still a loss." Even though it was a smaller loss than I have been having, I am still proud of myself. I drank 6 eight ounce glasses of water everyday, stayed on points and exercised 5 days this week. On an even better note, I am starting to notice some changes in my body, most notably is that my calf muscles are starting to become a little defined. I must assume I am starting to replace some of this flab and fat with muscle which in turn will help me burn more calories.

My goal for the next week is to start introducing more fruits and veggies into my diet. I am going to keep it easy, as this tends to be a hard area for me, by aiming for 2 servings a day. This should be an easily attainable goal (at least I hope so).

An OMG Week

Well.....I had my first OMG moment on the scale this morning. My goal has always been to lose the healthy way which is 1 to 2 pounds a week. So far, I have been doing that without any problem. I was very good about staying on points every day. I exercised 30 minutes on the bike 5 days this week. The following is what I did new this week. I increased my water intake by drinking six 8 ounce glasses of water a day. I also ate about 10-15 points of my weekly points as well as eating all my activity points.

The weight this week fell to 196.8 pounds!!!! That's right. That means a loss of just over 4 pounds in one week!!! I was so very, very pleasantly surprised to say the least. I am so excited. I haven't weighed under 200 pounds since my son was born 3 years ago. Go me!!!

I think my big loss was due to two factors: 1) the increase in my water intake and 2) eating some of my weekly points. I am going to try the same things this week and see what happens. So my goal for the next week is to keep the status quo as far as what a did this past week.

Exercise Goal Met

Well, another 1.6 pounds gone forever!! I wish it would have been a little more but at least my weight loss has been steady. I was able to get in 30 minutes on the exercise bike 5 days this week. Go Me!!!!  My legs were sore but I pushed through it. I hoping to maintain this level of exercise for several weeks before trying to increase it. I need to get my body used to it before pushing too much.

My new goal is to get in six 8 ounce glasses of water a day. This is really going to be more of a challenge than the exercise. It is hard for me to drink if I am not thirsty or eating because it upsets my stomach. I am really going to have to work my way up to it, but I hope to work up to six glasses by Friday.

Well here is to a healthier me this week...
